Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens for hire

About this kit

The Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS is a super-telephoto zoom for wildlife and birds, aviation, motorsport, surf and distant field sports. It reaches 600mm without the size and weight of a long prime, which makes it a realistic lens to hike with or shoot from a hide.

It zooms internally, so the length and balance stay the same from 200mm to 600mm, which keeps it steady on a monopod or tripod. Optical stabilisation works with the camera's in-body system for handheld use, and autofocus is quick for a lens this long. It weighs just over 2kg, though, so plan on support for long sessions. The variable f/5.6-6.3 aperture is the trade-off: it needs good light, and at dawn, dusk or in woodland you'll be working at high ISO.

It takes both of our teleconverters: the Sony 1.4x Teleconverter makes it a 280-840mm f/8-9, and the Sony 2.0x Teleconverter Lens a 400-1200mm f/11-13 for bright conditions. For birds and action, pair it with the Sony A9 III or Sony A1 II, or the Sony A7R V when you want to crop in. Support it on the Manfrotto XPRO 5-Section Aluminum Monopod or Sirui SQ75 Carbon Fiber Video Tripod.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
