Sony 16-35mm f2.8 II for hire

About this kit

The Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II is the second version of Sony's 16-35mm G Master zoom, smaller and lighter than the original. We hire it for interiors and property tours, events, music videos, establishing shots, vlogs and handheld or gimbal work in tight spaces.

Its low weight suits small rigs and long gimbal days, and autofocus is fast and quiet enough to follow someone walking through a room. The manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth exposure changes on video. At 16mm, keep faces towards the centre of the frame to avoid edge stretch. There's no optical stabilisation in the lens, so it leans on the camera's in-body system, or on a gimbal when it's on the Sony FX6, which has none.

It takes 82mm filters, so our ND Filter 82mm and CP Filter 82mm fit, and it shares them with the Sony 24-70mm f2.8 II, which makes the two an easy pairing. It works on every E-mount body we hire, from the Sony FX3 and Sony A7S III to the Sony A7 IV and Sony FX6, and is light enough for the Ronin RS 5 Combo, Ronin RS4 Pro or Ronin RS3 Pro.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
