Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8L IS USM Z L-series lens for hire

About this kit

Canon's RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is a standard zoom that holds f/2.8 all the way from 24mm to 105mm. On documentaries, corporate interviews, weddings and live events, one lens covers the room, the speaker and the reaction shots without a lens change or a loss of aperture as you zoom in. The Z marks it as one of Canon's hybrid lenses, designed as much for video as for stills.

Optical stabilisation helps with handheld work, the autofocus is quiet enough to run during takes, and it accepts Canon's optional power zoom adapter if you own one. The honest trade-off is size. It is a big lens, well over a kilogram, so a full day handheld is tiring and it makes smaller bodies front-heavy. On a gimbal, tripod or rig the weight stops being an issue.

It is RF mount and fits our Canon EOS R5 II, Canon EOS R6 III and Canon EOS R5 directly, and it makes a natural single-lens setup on the Canon EOS C80. For gimbal work it sits within the payload of the Ronin RS4 Pro and Ronin RS3 Pro, and for sit-down interviews pair it with the Sirui SQ75 Carbon Fiber Video Tripod. It takes 82mm filters, so our ND Filter 82mm and CP Filter 82mm screw straight on.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
