Sony 70-200mm f2.8 II for hire

About this kit

The Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II is the telephoto zoom for events, weddings, conferences, stage and sport, and for portraits and interviews where you want compression and some distance from the subject. It's also the lens we'd suggest for the long angle on a multi-camera shoot.

At just over a kilo it's light for a 70-200mm f/2.8, and it zooms internally, so its length and balance don't change as you zoom. Autofocus is fast and quiet and tracks moving subjects well. Optical stabilisation works with the camera's in-body system for steady handheld shots, and on the Sony FX6, which has no in-body stabilisation, the lens does that job on its own. The manual aperture ring can be de-clicked for video. Over a long day, a monopod still makes life easier.

It takes both of our teleconverters: the Sony 1.4x Teleconverter gives you 98-280mm at f/4, and the Sony 2.0x Teleconverter Lens 140-400mm at f/5.6. It works on every E-mount body we hire, from the Sony A9 III and Sony A1 II for sport to the Sony FX3 and Sony FX6 for video, and pairs with the Manfrotto XPRO 5-Section Aluminum Monopod.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
