Canon RF 50mm for hire

About this kit

Canon's RF 50mm is a fast standard prime for our Canon bodies. On full frame, 50mm sees a scene much as your eye does, without the stretch of a wide lens or the flattening of a telephoto, which makes it a dependable choice for portraits, interviews, street and documentary work, food and product shots, and anything shot in low light.

A wide maximum aperture does two jobs: it throws a busy background out of focus so your subject stands apart, and it lets in enough light to keep ISO down indoors. The flip side is that focus has to be precise when you shoot wide open, so lean on the eye detection of our Canon bodies, or stop down a little for subjects that move unpredictably. With a single focal length you frame by moving your feet, which keeps a shoot simple and the look consistent.

It is RF mount and fits our Canon EOS R5, Canon EOS R5 II, Canon EOS R6 III, Canon EOS C80 and Canon EOS c50 directly. It is an easy load for the Ronin RS4 Pro, and it pairs well with our Canon RF 24-70mm or Canon RF 70-200mm when you want a zoom for coverage and a prime for the shots that need more separation.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
