Canon RF 70-200mm for hire

About this kit

Canon's RF 70-200mm is the telephoto zoom for our Canon bodies. The longer focal lengths let you work from a distance and compress the background, which suits portraits, conferences and live events shot from the rear of a venue, theatre and music, sport, wedding ceremonies where you can't stand in the aisle, and second-angle interview shots. We have two, which helps on two-camera shoots.

Optical stabilisation steadies handheld framing, though for video at the long end you will still want support for anything more than a quick shot. Autofocus works with the subject tracking on our Canon bodies, so it follows people walking towards camera or moving across a stage. Compression is the reason to hire it: at 200mm a face sits against a soft, simplified background that a shorter lens can't give you from the same position.

It is RF mount and fits our Canon EOS R5, Canon EOS R5 II, Canon EOS R6 III and Canon EOS C80 directly. For long event days pair it with the Manfrotto XPRO 5-Section Aluminum Monopod, and for interviews and stage work with a video tripod such as the Sirui SQ75 Carbon Fiber Video Tripod or Neewer Heavy Duty Video Tripod.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
