Sony 20mm f1.8 hire in London
£25 per day
About this kit
The Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G is a compact, fast ultra-wide prime. We hire it for vlogging and walk-and-talk pieces, interiors, landscapes, night skies and low-light events, and for gimbal work where a zoom would add weight you don't need.
It's small and light, so it balances easily on a gimbal and stays comfortable on a handheld rig all day. Autofocus is quick and quiet, and f/1.8 lets you work in dim rooms or under street lighting without pushing the ISO hard. As with any 20mm lens, people near the edges of the frame look stretched, so keep faces towards the centre. There's no lens stabilisation, so it relies on the camera's in-body system, which makes it a better match for the Sony FX3 than the Sony FX6 when you're handheld.
Any of our E-mount bodies will take it, and it's a natural partner for the Sony FX3, Sony A7S III and Sony Alpha A7 V for low-light and handheld work, or the Sony A7R V for landscapes. It's light enough for the Ronin RS 5 Combo, Ronin RS4 Pro or Ronin RS3 Pro. It takes 67mm filters.

Questions people ask
- What's included with each item?
- It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
- Can I extend while the kit is out?
- Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
- What if something gets damaged?
- Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
