Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 G2 for hire

About this kit

Tamron's 28-75mm f/2.8 G2 is a light, constant-f/2.8 standard zoom for our Sony E-mount bodies. At around 540g it keeps the whole camera light, which you notice on a gimbal, through a long wedding or event day, or when travelling with a small kit, and it still gives you a bright aperture for content and interview work.

Autofocus is driven by Tamron's VXD linear motor, which is quick and quiet enough for video. It focuses very close at the wide end, down to about 18cm, so product details, food and hands-on shots work without a macro lens. There is no stabilisation in the lens, so it relies on the camera's in-body stabilisation, and the barrel extends as you zoom, so on a gimbal balance it at the focal length you plan to use.

It fits our Sony A7 IV, Sony Alpha A7 V, Sony A7S III and Sony FX3 directly, and sits comfortably within the payload of the Ronin RS3 Pro or Ronin RS4 Pro. It takes 67mm filters; with our Step Up Rings, the ND Filter 72mm and CP Filter 72mm fit it too.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
