Sony FX6 for hire

About this kit

The Sony FX6 is a full-frame Cinema Line camera in a production body, with built-in electronic variable ND, two XLR inputs, timecode, and both SDI and HDMI outputs. It's the one to book for crewed documentary, corporate and broadcast work, long interview days and events: shoots with a sound recordist or a director watching a monitor.

The variable ND runs from 1/4 to 1/128 and can be left on auto, so you can hold aperture and shutter while the light changes. It records 4K up to 120p in 10-bit with S-Log3, S-Cinetone and Cine EI, has dual base ISOs of 800 and 12,800, and its face-detection autofocus and touch tracking are reliable for single-operator interviews. The thing to know is that there's no in-body stabilisation, so handheld work needs a stabilised lens or a gimbal.

It's E-mount, records to CFexpress Type A or SD in two slots, and runs on Sony BP-U batteries rather than the NP-FZ100s our mirrorless bodies use. For handheld work we'd pair it with the Sony 24-105mm f4, which has optical stabilisation, or the Ronin RS4 Pro. For a cinema look, the Octopus PL-E Mount adapter lets it take the DZOFILM Arles 25/35/50/75/100mm FF/VV Prime Cine Lens Set (PL mount - Feet), which covers the full-frame sensor.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
What ID do I need?
A valid photo ID — passport or driving licence — plus a digital hire agreement, signed once online. Verification is a one-time step; after that your account is ready for every future hire.
Can I collect the same day?
Often, yes. If the item shows as available and we can confirm in time, same-day collection is normally fine — message us as early in the day as you can.
