About this kit
The Leica Q3 28 is a full-frame compact with a fixed 28mm f/1.7 Summilux lens and a 60MP sensor. Photographers book it for street and travel work, reportage, behind-the-scenes stills and second-camera coverage at weddings: jobs where a small, quiet camera gets you closer than a big body would.
The controls are simple: an aperture ring and manual focus on the lens, plus a macro setting that focuses down to 17cm. The leaf shutter is close to silent, the rear screen tilts for waist-level framing, and the body is rated IP52 against dust and light rain. Digital crop modes frame from 35mm out to 90mm but cost resolution (the 90mm setting leaves around 6MP), so treat them as a framing aid rather than a longer lens. The thing to plan for is battery life, rated at about 350 shots, so you'll want a second battery on a full day.
It records to a single SD card slot, charges in camera over USB-C and tethers to Capture One or Lightroom for portrait and product sessions. We'd pair it with a Power Bank for top-ups between locations, a Small basic Tripod for low light and long exposures, and an SSD Drive to back up 60MP files while travelling.

Questions people ask

- It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
- What ID do I need?
- A valid photo ID — passport or driving licence — plus a digital hire agreement, signed once online. Verification is a one-time step; after that your account is ready for every future hire.
- Can I collect the same day?
- Often, yes. If the item shows as available and we can confirm in time, same-day collection is normally fine — message us as early in the day as you can.
