About this kit
The Sony FX3 is a compact full-frame camera from Sony's Cinema Line. It shares its sensor with the A7S III, in a small body with a cooling fan and threaded mounting points, so it rigs onto a gimbal, car mount or shoulder rig, often without a cage. We hire it for music videos, commercials, documentary, interviews and branded content.
It records 4K up to 120p in 10-bit with S-Log3 and S-Cinetone, and in Cine EI it uses dual base ISOs of 800 and 12,800, so it keeps working when the light drops. The fan lets it run long takes without overheating, autofocus tracking is dependable on a gimbal, and in-body stabilisation helps when handheld. There's no viewfinder and no built-in ND, so for bright exteriors at wide apertures you'll need ND filters.
It's E-mount, takes CFexpress Type A or SD in both slots, and runs on NP-FZ100 batteries. The Sony 24-70mm f2.8 II takes 82mm filters, so it pairs neatly with our ND Filter 82mm. Add the Ronin RS4 Pro for gimbal work and the Rode Wireless Pro for dialogue. The full-size HDMI port can also send RAW to an external recorder if your workflow needs it.

Questions people ask

- It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
- What ID do I need?
- A valid photo ID — passport or driving licence — plus a digital hire agreement, signed once online. Verification is a one-time step; after that your account is ready for every future hire.
- Can I collect the same day?
- Often, yes. If the item shows as available and we can confirm in time, same-day collection is normally fine — message us as early in the day as you can.
