About this kit

The Canon EOS R5 Mark II stays at 45 megapixels but moves to a stacked, back-illuminated sensor that reads out much faster than the original R5's. We suggest it to hybrid shooters who need top-level stills and serious video from one body: weddings, fashion, editorial, sport, wildlife and commercial jobs where the same person covers both.

The faster sensor makes the 30fps electronic shutter practical for action, and pre-continuous shooting keeps frames from just before you fully press the shutter, which helps with fleeting moments. Eye Control AF lets you pick a subject by looking at it through the viewfinder. For video it records 8K RAW internally at up to 60p and 4K at up to 120p, with Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 for grading. Heat handling is better than on the first R5, but very long 8K takes can still reach temperature limits, so for long interviews or events plan breaks or work in 4K.

It's an RF-mount body with a CFexpress Type B slot and a UHS-II SD slot, built around Canon's LP-E6P battery. Pair it with the Canon RF 24-105mm F2.8L IS USM Z L-series lens for video, the Canon RF 70-200mm for sport and ceremonies, the Godox V1 Flash Pro (Canon) and spare Canon LP-E6P Batteries.
