Sony A7R V for hire

About this kit

The Sony A7R V is Sony's high-resolution body: a 61MP full-frame sensor, AI-based subject recognition and in-body stabilisation rated to 8 stops. It's our choice for architecture and interiors, product and packshots, fashion, portraits and landscape: work where files need to survive heavy crops or large prints.

The camera has tools to protect that detail. In-camera focus bracketing makes product and macro stacks straightforward, and Pixel Shift Multi Shooting captures 16 frames that Sony's desktop software merges into a roughly 240MP file for artwork and still life. The 9.44M-dot viewfinder makes focus checks easy, and the screen both tilts and flips out, which helps on a low tripod or copy stand. It shoots 8K and 4K video in 10-bit, though most clients book it for stills. The consideration is file size: 61MP raw files fill cards and slow down editing, so bring plenty of storage and a capable computer, especially when tethering.

It's E-mount, with two slots that each take CFexpress Type A or SD, runs on NP-FZ100 batteries and tethers over USB-C. Pair it with glass that can resolve the sensor: the Sony 12-24mm f2.8 for interiors, the Sony 90mm Macro for products and close detail, and the Sony 50mm f1.2 for portraits and fashion.
