Sirui Astra 1.33x FF AF Sony E Mount Anamorphic Cine Lens 50 / 75 / 100mm T1.8 for hire

About this kit

Sirui's Astra lenses are full-frame anamorphic primes with a 1.33x squeeze, autofocus and a T1.8 maximum aperture, built for Sony E mount in 50mm, 75mm and 100mm. They are a practical way into anamorphic for music videos, short films, weddings, fashion and branded content shot by small crews, where pulling focus by hand on an anamorphic would slow the day down.

A 1.33x squeeze suits 16:9 recording: desqueezed, a full-width 16:9 frame comes out close to 2.39:1, the classic widescreen ratio, with almost no cropping. Out-of-focus highlights take on a subtle oval shape. Because autofocus works on our Sony bodies, they are practical on a gimbal or for a one-person crew. You will still need to desqueeze the footage in the edit, and on set it helps to monitor a desqueezed image so framing looks right.

They fit our Sony FX3, Sony FX6, Sony A7S III and Sony A7 IV directly, with no adapter. For gimbal work they sit comfortably on the Ronin RS4 Pro or Ronin RS3 Pro, and the Atomos Ninja (Ultra) or Atomos Shinobi 7" Monitor + Cage Kit can display the desqueezed picture while you frame.

Questions people ask

What's included with each item?
It's listed on the item page under "in the case" — batteries, cards, chargers, cages and cases where they come with the kit. If something you need is not listed, add it from Accessories or ask.
Can I extend while the kit is out?
Yes, if nobody else has it booked — message us before your return date and we update the booking and the invoice. The earlier you ask, the more likely the answer is yes.
What if something gets damaged?
Minor wear is expected and never charged. Accidental damage is covered by your hire agreement: you are responsible for the kit while it is with you, and significant damage is charged at the repair or replacement cost.
